Product Summary
The TMS9980AJDL is a software-compatible member of TI 9900 family of microprocessors. Designed to minimize the system cost for smaller systems, the TMS9980AJDL is a single-chip 16-bit central processing unit (CPU) which has an 8-bit data bus, on-chip clock, and is packaged in a 40-pin package. The instruction set of the TMS9980AJDL includes the capabilities offered by full minicomputers and is exactly the same as the 9900,5. The unique memory-to-memory architecture features multiple register files, resident in memory, which allow faster response to interrupts and increased programming flexibility. The separate bus structure simplifies the system design effort. Texas Instruments provides a compatible set of MOS and TTL memory and logic function circuits to be used with a TMS9980AJDL system.
